This one-day, hands-on course is open to everyone, whether you're a curious player, tech, or seasoned builder. The focus is on precision slotting and the fine details that make a nut perform flawlessly.

We’ll explore the tonal properties of different nut materials and how they influence sound, sustain, and playability. Learn the theory of string paths, correct slotting, correct string spacing for different gauge strings, basic setup, and the use of professional tools and which you need to buy for this job.

Each participant will build a nut from start to finish using a bone blank (alternative materials available if preferred).

While the focus of this course is on electric guitars, everything you’ll learn is fully transferable to acoustic instruments and there is no difference in the method.
