Nut and Saddle Course - 2 Day
In this hands-on class, students will dive into the fundamentals of nut and saddle construction for acoustic guitars —essential components in both tone and playability. You'll explore a variety of materials, including bone, synthetic, and composite options, while learning the tonal characteristics and structural properties of each.
The course includes step-by-step instruction in shaping, precise slotting and spacing, and polishing as you craft a custom nut and intonated saddle from raw bone blanks. Alternative materials are available for those who prefer not to work with bone.
The nut and saddle are made in a simultaneous process. In addition, the course covers truss rod adjustments to correct neck relief, resulting in a fully balanced acoustic guitar setup.
All nut-making skills are transferable to electric guitar.
